¡Hola hola! Another week at the MTC has passed, it feels like time is flying by here. I only have one more week at the CCM, and pretty soon I will be headed to Antigua Guatemala where I will spend the next two years of my life inviting others to come unto Christ. This week let me just say, A BLAST. We started our English fast as a district, so that means we have only been speaking in Spanish, which means NO MAS EN INGLÉS. Hermano Sosa has been la policia this week because he has been keeping tabs on who has been slipping in words in English during class here and there and he said that whoever has spoken the most words has to buy chocolate for the whole class from la tienda. It has been a challenge for sure but as missionaries we must have faith and work hard for el don de las lenguas. I had the opportunity to play a special musical number of How Great Thou Art with Hermana Baldwin this past Sunday. It's been awhile since I played a special musical number in sacrament meeting so i...

cuidado con el pollo rojo

¡¡Hola Hola!!  Buenas tardes from Mexico This week was the definition of CRAZY. Sunday started off with three of the elders in my district getting sick from the Pollo Rojo that the CCM served for dinner. I remember Hermano Sosa warned my district not to eat it, but like 5 of the elders in my district ignored that warning and put hot sauce on the Pollo Rojo as well, and yeah I'm pretty sure yall can figure out what happened next🤮. I did try some of the Pollo Rojo and it didn't affect me at all. I have my Mom’s Mexican dishes to thank for building up my stomach to handle such a dish. Tuesday was also a crazy day as well. To sum it up we had two missionaries in my district get sick, my companion got hit in the eye by a Frisbee, and it left a purple mark, and an Elder in my district broke a glass window of one of the houses the missionaries stay in with a baseball…… homeboy was trying to be Clayton Kershaw out here  Classes have continued to be so fun while learning Españo...

BIENVENIDO A MÉXICO

¡¡Hola Hola!! Another week at the MTC has passed and man was it a rollercoaster.  This week I had traveled to Mexico and said goodbye to my family for the next two years. It was very hard to say goodbye to them but I know that the Lord has work for me in Guatemala. Overall this week was awesome, I got to meet my district in person and man they are so awesome. It's been awesome to hear their testimonies and practice Spanish with them everyday! I've also been speaking in Spanish with the missionaries that are native to Mexico. They had so many questions about LA and the culture in the states, it's been fun to make friends with them. They asked me if I know LeBron James which was pretty funny.  The food here at the CCM has been awesome, I have been on cloud 9 with tacos and enchiladas almost everyday, MUY DELICIOSO.  I also got to meet my teachers Hermano Sosa and Hermana Garcia in person. We have been having class in 99% Spanish so it's definitely been a growing exper...

Vamos a México

¡¡Hola hola!! Another week of online MTC has passed. This week definitely went by faster than my first week, but man, it got off to a crazy start. Due to an unforeseen family emergency, I had to say an early goodbye to my dad on Sunday for the next two years. He left to be with my family in Utah for a while. I would ask if yall could keep Familia Flores in your prayers. That would be great. Overall this week was good though. I got used to the schedule of classes and I have gotten closer to the other missionaries in mi distrito. This week my companion and I had our first practice lesson with my online MTC teacher, Hermana GarcĂa. She acted as an investigator by the name of Carolina Hernandez. Elder Fausett and I struggled with the first lesson because we were under the impression that she would be acting as a referral that already had her first lesson with the missionaries, so we tried teaching her about the Plan of Salvation, but it turned out to be her first time so we ended up t...

this is where the fun begins

Hola a todos! My first week as a missionary is almost over and a lot has already happened! I’ve been in the Home MTC for the past week, and let me just say that I have been having a lot of fun with my district. It's been so cool to get to meet other missionaries that have such amazing testimonies of the gospel. I met my companion on Monday, Elder Fausett, and let me just say right now, this man is such a stud. He knows the scriptures really well and he has such a big heart. He is from DRUM ROLL PLEASE,,,, Payson, Utah, so not that far from BYU. Actually, almost everyone in my district is from Utah, so shout out to Utah for being a factory for missionaries. Also speaking of my district, ALL OF THE ELDERS ARE GOING TO ANTIGUA GUATEMALA, with me. This is such amazing news because that means that we will begin our mission together and finish it together as well. My teachers have been awesome so far, their names are Hermana Garcia and Hermano Sosa. Even though they have only been my tea...
